Ms. Jessica Ma, known for her bright smile and love for playing the piano, was a kindergarten teacher in China before moving to Canada. She has been teaching Cantonese, Mandarin and Music at the Calgary Chinese Private School since 2004. She received her Early Childhood Education diploma from Bow Valley College in 2008 and is currently a Level 3 Childcare Educator. Ms. Ma passionately believes that teachers should be co-learners, co-researchers and co-imaginers of possibilities alongside their students. This philosophy calls for a playful and seeking spirit, a willingness to participate, persist, and care, even when it is challenging. As such, a teacher’s role is made more dynamic through imagining, creating, and inventing possibilities. Ms. Ma enjoys co-learning with her class through engaging games and activities that are highly regarded by students and parents alike.
