Mr Fang graduated from Xiamen University. Before going abroad, he taught at a university for 21 years, harboring a deep affection for Chinese traditional culture. After relocating, he taught at several other Chinese schools.
He excels in storytelling, incorporating historical tales into classroom teachings. For overseas Chinese students, he adheres to the philosophy of “learning from teaching.” By actively encouraging students to apply what they learn to their daily lives, he aims to “activate” their knowledge of Chinese language and culture. For instance, he encourages students to rearrange new vocabulary to create stories that reflect their individuality. He organizes activities such as “Question of the Week” around textbook themes, fostering engaging discussions between students and teachers, making learning both informative and enjoyable. Beyond the classroom, understanding and appreciating the Chinese language becomes a profound pursuit for students to enjoy Chinese culture.
